Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she received recognition. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound, as well as her self-released mixtape Five Finger Discount. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen featured her on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Later in the year, her music was circulating throughout Dreamville. On December 8 she signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October of 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017, and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. The year 2018 saw Ari Lennox performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. In November, she dropped two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on November 13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang together with Cole for Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. The track was released as a standalone single in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. On February 20, 2019 a music video was made available for the track. It has already received over three million views on YouTube within its initial week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
