Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko, an Kyrgyzstani Muaythai fighter from Peru and a mixed martial arts athlete who is a part of the UFC in the Flyweight Division is currently in Kyrgyzstani. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ and co- UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her journey into combat sports in the form of a Muay Thai kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous verdict. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded another medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, and a gold medal in 2011 and won as the IFMA Amateur World Muay Thai Champion in 2016. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. In 2012, she took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC World Championships. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tiedblad Keskikangas, who was fighting at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was achieved by unanimous decision. Antonina Schevchenko kicked off the professional phase of her MMA profession in the year 2002, with the victory over Anara Baanova at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She took the win via second-round TKO and also won her subsequent 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass a record of 3-1. Shevchenko was absent from MMA to concentrate on her kickboxing and made her comeback against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won Anissa Haddaoui by an unanimous decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in an unanimous vote. She left the promotion in 2018 to join Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina utilized superior strikes in order to TKO Nievera by knees to her body while in the final clinch. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina was offered an UFC contract after her win. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi by a split-decision fight after winning the first fight by an unanimous decision. Antonina recovered from this loss, defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler via a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the bonus of a fight-of-the night. Shevchenko went 2-2 in the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
